It's time for Christmas

Hello my dear readers!

The next few weeks are very busy and I'm unable to turn my house in a Christmas house next week, as I always do on December 1st.

So, this weekend is all about the Christmas tree and decorations (and ofcourse Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters ;)). 

Can't wait to show you everything! 

Last year I decorated my tree in bright colored figurines, this year it's all about white and antique silver.

My new kitchen Part III

I love, love, love my new kitchen and today I would like to show you more pictures, old and new ones, to get a complete look of the kitchen renovation.

BEFORE

PRESENT

The wall was extended with about 30 cm. So I could place an extra cabinet at the right.

The tiles on the wall are still there, they fit perfectly and I definitely wanted to keep them. 

Placing the exhaust hood to the left was number one on the to-do-list, so the pipe wasn't showing anymore. 

I wanted to buy a SMEG refrigerator, but decided to go for a built-in-refrigerator and freezer. My microwave is hided in the top cabinet on the left. 

Another big change is the place of the hardware. 

The dishwasher is placed next to the sink and the oven and the stove next to the refrigerator. 

 

  

 

I'm looking forward to hear your opinion about the renovation.

A white oldie

Last week I bought this lovely, old kitchen scale. Isn't it pretty? 

The white and black combine perfect and it's realy a work of art.. I looked this scale up and these were made around 1900-1920 in Germany.

It was so hard finding a white kitchen scale, but I'm soooo glad I've found one!

A lovely shop worth a visit #2

A while ago I saw this beautiful wooden sign saying "White Christmas", but I couldn't find it on the internet. 

I asked the blogger and she directed my to "Vintage Schmiede" on DaWanda. 

The owner, Annette, is a lovely lady who makes all kinds of vintage things by hand. 

Wooden signs with lovely sayings and pictures on it, boxes with old French advertisements and many other things.

I also saw a wooden sign with "Herbstzeit" (German for Autumn time) on it, and I would realy love that with "Herfsttijd" (Dutch for Autumn time), that was no problem, she could make that. 

I also bought a wooden sign with Homemade Pies, it's perfect for my kitchen <3.

A shop in Dordrecht (Netherlands) that sells old antique and brocante. Mother Jacqueline en daughter Simone run the place.

Autumn corner and doily lights

How do I love Autumn.... 
Last week I've made a little Autumn corner on my living room table. I'm still in love with baby boo pumpkins and my tiny cloche....

On Pinterest I saw this lovely idea of lace doilies around a votive candle glass. It looked so pretty and easy to make. Last thuesday my sister and I made them at home. Don't they look cute?

I decorated little glasses (the onces used for Ikea candles) and my sister a big and little glass.

My new kitchen Part II

Another part of my kitchen, this time I would like to show you the right part of the kitchen.

In Germany I found this lovely plate rack. It would look so nice on the wall and I wanted something like this for a long time. 
It had silver hooks, that looked like the top of a clothes hanger. I exchanged them for black wired French hooks, they look so much better. 

Aren't round cake racks pretty..? 

There's something about them I love.. The round wire and knowing they were used for so many cakes..

The tiny one I found last week, it has rare round supports and a little hook.  

The old box was used by a bakery to carry pies, it's about 50-60 years old. I'm so glad my mom found it. It was used by the bakery in the village my dad grew up. So it's extra special.

Pumpkin Parade

My mom and I visited a Pumpkin Parade in Hulsberg yesterday.

These farmers have a Pumpkin sale every year. 

We were overwhelmed, we had never seen so many pumpkins at the same time in lots of colors and sizes. It was amazing!

They also have lots of herbs and plants growing on they land.

In the spring we'll going back to buy flowers, plants and herbs. 

They also had white (!!) lavender, that would look so nice in my garden... <3

Lovely pumpkins

I just LOVE white pumpkins, they are so cute and match perfectly in a white home. 

My mom and I visited a Pumpkin Parade yesterday (pictures in the next topic!) and they had so many pumpkins, it was hard for us to decide which ones to take home.. Luckily they had many white pumpkins <3 The tiny Baby Boo is my favorite, a cute little ivory pumpkin.
