New brocante

As you know, I've visited some brocante shops last week and bought a few beauties.
Today I would like to show you my bottle rack and a bundle of old French papers.

I was so happy to find a small bottle rack and it still looks great after all those years..
Right now, it holds my small collection of milk jugs on my dining table.

The old French papers are from the 19th century. I love to look at them, knowing they travelled a long way and still look so good.

Have a wonderful week end!

Nadine

Brocante in Beeg

Brocante in Beeg is a wonderful shop in Grevenbicht, the Netherlands.
Ine and her husband are passionate for old furniture and decorations from France and Belgium.
They also restore and paint found furniture in their own workshop.

This shop is one of my favorites and Ine is such an nice lady. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

If you're nearby, please do pay them a visit.

She's also on Facebook and has a website

Another corner

This week I received my two antique stable windows, that I bought online. Unfortunately one of the two was broken and the other didn't look at all like the two shown on the picture.
I was very mad, very sad and will not think about it at all anymore. Just one word for the mister who sold them; Karma.

This window is still intact and looks perfect on my chest of drawers combined with my ‘antiques’ sign, my candle stand from House Doctor and two old lace spools.

Tomorrow I’m going on a shopping/brocante spree, hopefully I will find lots of new things that make me forget this week’s purchase..

Have a wonderful week end!

Baby's breath corner

New decorations in my living room; an old rechaud, baby's breath an old petit fours tong, a mercury glass chandle stand and some ployer's eggs in a pretty glass bowl.

The cabinet is still in mint-green, but will be painted white in the summer.
I gave it lots of thoughts, but I think the decorations look more beautiful on a white cabinet. I keep seeing the color first, then the decorations.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Love the look of this old rechaud..

Old book shelf

Yes! I've found an old book (wine)shelf!

A while ago, I've visited a lovely lady. She has a gorgeous decorated home with white and grey walls and white furniture and decorations. It all makes a perfect picture and is a great inspiration. She also had this wine shelf for her books and magazines.

I didn't had a closet for my books and stalled them at the top shelf in my corner closet.

Yesterday I found this wine shelf on the internet and had to have it... It fits perfect next to my tv cabinet and can hold all my books and magazines. I love the combination of the iron and white/pastel colored books.

Have a wonderful evening!

Nadine

It's a new year!

Happy New Year everybody!

May 2013 bring you lots of happiness, love and health!

Some words of wisdom for the new year..

"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day. "
 ~ Edith Lovejoy Pierce ~

"We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched.
Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives…not looking for flaws, but for potential.” ~ Ellen Goodman ~

The last days of 2012...

Only 2 days to go until 2013.. A new year with new possibilities, the end of Winter and Spring not so far from now..

I'm already preparing new decorations for january.
Doesn't it look lovely? Still tiny hyacinths with moss and a lace bow..

I would like to wish all of you a happy new year, a wonderful 2013 with lots of love, happiness and health!

"For last year's words belong to last year's language.
Next year's words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning."
~ T.S. Eliot ~

"New Year's eve is like every other night; there is no pause in the march of the universe, no breathless moment of silence among created things that the passage of another twelve months may be noted; and yet no man has quite the same thoughts this evening that come with the coming of darkness on other nights."

They are so cute and look very pretty with only a bow of broderie lace...

I love this lace and the white matching the green... <3

There's no way I can make pretty pictures of my front window in dayligt, with all the houses and cars, but here's a look of it decorated for Christmas.

Christmas greetings

This year I wanted to make homemade Christmas cards for my dearest ones in a vintage look.

At a flea market I've bought a cutting sheet with vintage Christmas images.
After cutting them out, I've used the Paper Distresser from Tim Holz to give the images an old edge and colored the edges with Distress Ink "Old paper".
For the stamp I've also used "Old Paper".
At last, a doily and a tiny bow and the Christmas cards are ready to be given.
On the back of the envelope I've put a gold seal, bought in Paris. I've always wanted my own seal and this was the perfect time to use it.

Noël 2012 Part I

Hello dear readers!

Last week I finally had the time to make some pictures of my Christmas decorations.

As you may know, Christmas is my favorite time of the year.
But are there people that don't like Christmas?!

I love turning my house in a cozy, winter home with beautiful decorations and wreaths. And seeing snow outside my window makes me smile big time.

It's my second Christmas in my own house and I've gathered lots of new Christmas decorations.
Last year I used lots of bright colors, this year I chose white and antique silver. They both have their own charm. Although white and silver fit better into my interior.

I love pine wreaths... They give an instant Christmas feeling.

This year I had to buy all new decorations, I didn't mind at all ;)

How cute is that birdie?! I already bought one last year,
luckily I've found another one.
And the lace heart is so pretty, don't you think?

An adorable white angel..

My little Christmas corner in my living room.

My own "Rudolph" <3

Ssttt.. This wreath is hanging there since last Christmas, without the lights it fits perfectly into my home.. In 2013 I will search for a new wreath!

My new favorites for Christmas, mercury glass ornaments...
I love their old, vintage look.

There are some more pictures to come, but I think you'll have a good image of my Christmas home 2012.

Have a wonderful week!

Love,

Nadine
